Project Summary – Lio Malca Gallery, Walker Street, NYC

New Classic Restoration LLC was commissioned to execute a dramatic architectural intervention at the Lio Malca Gallery, located on Walker Street in New York City. The scope focused on bringing texture, contrast, and material richness to the space—anchored by a bold brick installation and refined interior finishes.

Scope of Work:
  • Installation of over 15,000 individual bricks, running from the basement floor up to the first-level ceiling, creating a visually powerful vertical surface that acts as both an architectural and artistic statement.

  • Fabrication and installation of a 1" thick steel staircase, built to handle high traffic while maintaining a sleek, modern profile.

  • A 42" tall glass railing was installed alongside the staircase, providing a clean, transparent barrier that preserves open sightlines while ensuring safety.

  • All wall surfaces received a Level 5 skim coat, ensuring a flawless, smooth finish suitable for high-end gallery presentation.

  • Full interior painting, completed with precision to complement the materials palette and highlight the gallery’s spatial geometry.

This project showcases New Classic Restoration LLC’s ability to blend industrial materials with contemporary finishes, all while executing technically demanding elements like tall brick installations and custom steel fabrication. The result is a uniquely expressive space that balances rugged texture with modern refinement—perfectly suited to the gallery’s curatorial vision.
