Project Summary – Templon Gallery, 10th Avenue & 27th Street, NYC
New Classic Restoration LLC completed a comprehensive interior renovation for the Templon Gallery, a 4,000-square-foot space with a mezzanine, located at the corner of 10th Avenue and 27th Street in New York City’s Chelsea gallery district. This project was delivered on a tight 3-month timeline, transforming the space into a sophisticated, high-functioning environment for art exhibition and operations.
Scope of Work:
-
Installation of new flooring throughout the gallery, providing a clean and durable surface suited to heavy foot traffic and large-scale installations.
-
Construction of 12-foot-high walls featuring precise ¼" architectural reveals running throughout the perimeter, adding subtle refinement and dimensionality to the interior architecture.
-
Custom fabrication and installation of full-height office bookcases, designed to provide elegant storage and visual continuity within the mezzanine office area.
-
Design and build of a custom Corian reception desk with integrated bookshelf, offering a seamless, minimalistic welcome point for gallery visitors.
-
Creation of a skylight opening in the mezzanine area, introducing natural light into the core of the gallery space and enhancing the overall ambiance.
-
In the basement level, the space was fully refurbished to support additional art display, including the addition of a simple, functional kitchen for staff use.
-
Ceiling refinishing in select areas, with careful stain treatments and the installation of new lighting fixtures, optimizing both form and function.
This project demonstrates New Classic Restoration LLC’s ability to execute complex, design-focused renovations within aggressive timelines. The final result is a refined, light-filled gallery space that supports curatorial flexibility while integrating custom architectural elements and bespoke millwork.
